The general purpose of this contract is to provide support services for the Management, Control and Supervision of the construction works associated with the materialization of the doubling of the Loiola-Herrera and Herrera-Altza sections of the Lasarte-Hendaia line of Euskontren, a company dependent on the Basque Government in the field of public transport.
With an overall cost of more than 120 million euros, the scope of the works is focused on the widening of approximately 6,000 m in length of the Lasarte-Hendaia line, through the construction of several tunnels and new associated stations.
The Loiola-Herrera section, with a length of 2,765.86 m, starts at Loiola station and ends at Herrera station. Its intermediate section runs through the false tunnels of Loiola, 81,483 m long, Herrera, 155,851 m long, the false tunnel of Herrera station, 132.74 m long and an 1,811.742 m long tunnel in mine line. The works also include the construction of the Intxaurrondo station, which is subway, as well as the construction of the new Herrera station. In addition, the works include the renovation of the so-called tunnel 2, which will be used exclusively for freight after commissioning.
The Herrera-Altza double track section, approximately 1,040 m long, has a layout consisting of a structure built under the N-I road, designed to provide coverage over the railway and metro line and made up of 32 prefabricated trough-type beams, 12 cm thick and 240 cm wide, with compression slabs. Their lengths range from 9.83 m to 21.08 m. There is also a 51.50 m long cut-and-cover tunnel, as well as two sections of in-line tunnel on both sides of Altza station, the first 537 m long between Herrera station and Altza station, and the second 197 m long once past Altza station.
Finally, the contract also includes the construction of the new Loiola station, a building-bridge type structure, consisting of two trapezoidal metal caissons of variable section with spans of 50.40 m and 21.60 m and a maximum length of 82.80 m, whose deck is closed with metal arches on which the façade and roof of the building are built.
