The Sewage Network of the region covered by the Municipalities that make up the Bilbao Bizkaia Water Consortium contemplates the collection of all the discharges of the Municipal Networks for their subsequent conduction to the Wastewater Treatment Plants.
However, the orography of some areas and the type of population of the rural area, which is quite scattered, means that there are areas that are not connected to the Municipal Networks and the discharges are made freely on the ground. In some cases, through septic tanks. The volume of these discharges is very varied, and ranges from those coming from one dwelling to those coming from towns with 50-100 or more inhabitants. There are also Municipal Networks which, given their location, are very costly to connect to some Isolated Nuclei. These and other cases require an adequate solution.
The object of the present contract is to draw up the Inventory of all those nuclei which, within the geographical scope established, are not going to be connected in the future to the Sewage Networks (they will have their own treatment plant), or which could, by extension of the existing sewage networks, be connected to the same, whether they are Municipal or Primary Networks.
The geographical scope of the inventory covers the Duranguesado and Encartaciones areas, being the municipalities that are the object of this technical assistance: Durango, Iurreta, Izuztza, Mañaria, Zaldibar, Balmaseda, Gordexola, Güeñes and Zalla.
Based on the existing networks, all the dwellings (unitary or grouped) that do not have sewerage service will be analyzed, doing so by entities and nuclei with the denominations established by each of the municipalities included in the Study.
Once the entities and nuclei are known, a solution will be given to those groups of more than 20 inhabitants, studying the Connection to the Municipal Network, the Connection to the Primary Network and the Wastewater Treatment Plant. In view of the results of the studies to be carried out and the conclusions obtained in the previous phases, a maximum investment cost per inhabitant will be established after which the solution system will be without effect, resulting in a dispersed isolated nucleus.
