The purpose of this service contract is the elaboration of a project that fully defines the actions that need to be carried out in order to build a gauging station in the lower section of the Undabe river, in the municipality of Legutio. At present, there is no gauging station in the course of the Undabe river.

The area in which the new station will be built corresponds to the lower course of the Undabe river, near its mouth at the Urrúnaga reservoir. The construction of the station, which will measure hydrological, meteorological and water quality parameters, is justified by the current lack of information on this area. In particular, because of the interest in knowing data on the flow of the Undabe river before it flows into the Urrúnaga reservoir.

An essential part of the work to be carried out consists of selecting a suitable site for the construction of a gauging station on the Undabe river, in the section corresponding to the entrance to the Urrúnaga reservoir, in accordance with the needs of the Basque Water Agency (URA).

Based on the studies and previous works carried out, there was initially a proposal for the location of the gauging station in question. But it is intended, by means of a multi-criteria analysis, to include and analyze different site proposals for the gauging station together with the previously existing location proposal. Also, to redesign the technical solution adopted.

To this end, by applying multi-criteria techniques, the analysis will be extended and the different alternatives will be evaluated in order to select the most advantageous alternative. This will be developed at the construction project level, fully defining the actions to be carried out.

The purpose of the works to be carried out is to develop a complete construction project, in accordance with the corresponding section of this Folder, considering the current regulations and the requirements of the Hydrological Plan. The works object of the contract shall also be adapted to the regulations that are applicable and to the instructions that, where appropriate, are provided by the contracting body, within the framework of Law 9/2017, of November 8, on Public Sector Contracts.
