The King Abdulaziz Port is a strategic infrastructure, especially for Saudi Arabia’s “Vision2030” Plan, which promotes economic growth in non-oil industries. This project consists of designing alternative truck routes in and out of the city’s port, without using the current single route via King Abdulaziz Road.
The scope of work ranges from the pre-feasibility and feasibility study to the development of the corresponding construction project. This project includes the analysis of current and future traffic, the detailed design of the links and access roads to the Port, the structural design of the different projected overpasses, the redesign of the storm water networks, the lighting systems, the study of the affected services, and other related activities.
The final solution will be the construction of a six-lane overpass over King Faisal Road to connect to Salman Al Farsi Road, as well as the design of a left overpass from Tolon Road to connect to King Abdulaziz Port to the south. Also, as part of the construction project, a second access to enter and exit the port from the east will be designed.
