The southern extension of the Vitoria-Gasteiz tramway to the university involves the extension of the tramway line by 1.4 km and will serve some 20,000 potential users. The design of the route has taken into account the possibility of future line extensions towards the Salburua neighbourhood from the Florida stop. In fact, the project includes a “mango track” for manoeuvring in the direction of Salburua.
The extension starts at the Angulema stop. From here, through the current roadway, it continues along Florida Street with a slight turn to the left. It then turns right and crosses over the Adif railway trench through the Trianas bridge and continues along Castro Urdiales street, to continue along Nieves Cano and end at Martínez de Aragón.
Within the works, we have developed all the phases of engineering; from the previous studies and demand, to the supervision of the works, including the drafting of the corresponding construction projects and the modified projects that arose during the works.
Its layout responds on the one hand to provide an adequate service to all types of users, without architectural barriers of any kind, and on the other hand to an implementation that in each case is fully integrated into the urban environment in which it is located.
